A bit of self advertisement or shud I say blogtisement!!

As u might not know, and I don't suppose there is any earthly reason that there is a high probability of you knowing, I run two more blogs by the name of "Satattar Palli Sarbojanin Durgotsab" and "Me, Myself & My Blog" that can be respectively accessed @ http://satattarpallidurgotsab.blogspot.com/ and http://anirband.blogspot.com/. While the former is on the nostalgic moments shared during Durgapuja, Bengali's most festive moment, by the locales of Satattar Palli where I was brought up from the age of 3+ years the latter needs a bit of an explanation. You see, actually you might have already seen, if you've glanced at the very 1st article in this blog, that from time to time my passion for writing drives me crazy and when that spike comes it becomes unbearable for me not to put my ideas in writing. It was these moments and sometimes something more that occasionally drive me to write short fictions. Though this habit had developed from my childhood days but it was not before I was on the verge of passing out of my college that I saw my writing published in college magazine. After that I did occasionally write but my shyness and procrastination stood in the way of communicating with prospective readers. So it was not until 2006 that I realized that blogs offer a direct way of communicating with readers of my latent talent and thus was created my 1st blog. But as ideas didn't sprout like wildfire in my brain the pace of blogging initially would have made a tortoise too smile in contempt. So then as I was contemplating on how to improve the pace suddenly a marvellous (?!) idea came to me. The point was, as an avid reader of fictions, these days whenever I try to get an overview of books, though the cyber space is filled with reviews of English literature but you required quite an effort to find the same for vernaculars (Bengali in my case) and sometimes you don't get them at all. Thus, I thought that readers with the same craving of fictions as me would find it good if amateurish reviews are available at least. So these days the blog is more for reviews be it literature or movies that I read or see.

Why did I start this blog??

From a very early age, I always had a strange passion for writing a diary. Infact every now and then, especially during English New Years, I would pester my Mom to lend me a brand new diary so that I can carry on writing on the crispy pages. The following first few days would see me enthusiastically drawing out the diary before going to bed, trying to pen down in minutest details the happenings of the day and feeling that the space given between the consecutive days was too short for squeezing everything! A few days later the picture would have changed slightly in the sense that I would think why the hell the diary designers keep so much space between the consecutive days as a curious feeling of guilt would overcome my senses when the blank space in each page seem to grow in size as the days went by. Some more weeks would pass when I would dread nightfall as the ordeal of writing diary would become too much for me and my emotions would be midway between anxiety and embarrassment. Finally embarrassment would win and the sight of the diary would be too much for me and I silently would quit the task till some time.

Once if I remember correctly, I seemed to have succeeded in continuing the process of logging down the events of days for quite some time but alas, one of my friends found out the notebook and in front of a group of my chums read out some very personal matters that, considering my age at that time, was sufficient an excuse to withheld writing any sort of memoir for a long time.

But peculiar as it may seem to be, this year too my passion for writing has once again emerged for which I've started this blog and this time let's see whether I can succeed or not!
